Deputy mayor Yamazaki met us on behalf of Mayor Hattori who was not available.
Seven French University Students made a courtesy call on Deputy Mayor Yamazaki after their Japanese Language class. Homestay Group Leader explained their schedule during the stay and the students made their comments about the events accordingly in a cheerful manner.
Deputy Mayor congratulated the students on the great victory of the World Cup Soccer and then Hamaori Festival and Astronaut Noguchi became the following topics, which were all made in a nice atmosphere.
The members of Yanagishima Kite Preservation Society had made the gifts of miniature Kite and the students seemed interested in the meanings of beautifully written Chinese Characters on the kites.
From the city they also got the presents of Happi shaped Tenugui and Paper cranes, which would be a good souvenirs.
