The farewell party and the Japanese speech contest for the French students visiting Chigasaki for July were held at the Chigasaki City Gender Equality Promotion Center (Ikoria) on the July 30th afternoon. IAC members including host families, home stay group members and the teachers who taught Japanese to the students joined the venue. |
While ten students (more than usual) were accepted this year, six students gave speeches as four students returned home early.
The topics of the speeches include memories of the stay in Chigasaki, climbing Mt. Fuji and trips to Tokyo and Kansai, and gratitudes to teachers who helped them learning Japanese.
For the students who returned home early, the host families read their essays for them.
Then, Mr. Kurida, the representative of the Japanese Sunday classroom, commented for the speakers, and handed them completion certificates of the Japanese course.
After the speech contest, the farewell party was held and all participants enjoyed chatting.
